Full Moon Ritual: Release, Forgive, and Let Go

The Full Moon is here, a potent energy that stirs our inner world, heightens our emotions, and awakens our intuitive knowing. The energy is intense, raw, and transformative. And it’s here to help us release, forgive, and heal.
The Full Moon is the climax of the lunar cycle, a powerful moment where we are asked to deal with our stuff. It’s the time to let go of the baggage: those emotional weights and patterns that no longer serve us. It’s about releasing negative energy from past hurts, toxic relationships, and limiting beliefs.
Here’s the thing: When the Full Moon shines brightest, it illuminates the darkness within us. Those parts of ourselves we often don’t see. The hidden places we tend to avoid. She shows us what we need to let go of: shame, guilt, fear, anger, envy... anything that's holding us back and stuck.
Now is the time to do the work. Ready to release? Here’s a forgiveness ritual that will set you free.
Full Moon Forgiveness Ritual:
Find some stillness: Take a few moments to sit with yourself.
Breathe deeply: Take three deep breaths in (counting 4 seconds in, 4 seconds hold, 8 seconds out). And as you exhale, release any stress, anxiety, or racing thoughts.
The Healing List: Think of any habits, patterns, or beliefs that are hurting you and that you are ready to release. It might be more than one thing. Write them down. Write them until you feel like you’ve really expressed everything on paper.
Think of every person who has hurt you (from your past, childhood, or more recent experiences). Write their names down, and next to each, write what they did to hurt you. Fill the paper with your emotions, let it all out.
Visualize the forgiveness: Close your eyes. Visualize each person on your list, one by one. See them standing before you in a pink bubble. They are smiling at you, radiating peace and love. Feel the release. Say softly to each person (out loud or in your heart): I forgive you. Watch them drift away in their pink bubbles, free from the tension.
Now, we burn: Ready to release? As we burn this list, let the fire transform your pain into love. But first, say this affirmation:
“Under the glorious Full Moon, I forgive everything, everyone, every experience, every memory from the past or present that needs forgiveness. I forgive absolutely everyone. I forgive myself for past mistakes. The universe is love, and I am forgiven. I am driven by love. I realize that love is the greatest force in my life, and I now surrender to inner peace and calm. I bring love and healing to all my thoughts, beliefs, and relationships. I learn my lessons and move forward. I ask the Moon to cleanse the fragments of my soul, making me whole again. I send love to myself, to everyone I know, and to everyone who knows me, in all directions of time. Under this glorious Full Moon, I am healed. My life is healed. So it is. So it will be.”
This ritual is powerful. It releases negativity and transforms it into love. And as we make space in ourselves, we can choose to fill that space with gratitude. Gratitude raises your vibration, makes you feel lighter, and opens you up to receiving what’s aligned with your highest good.
So now, close your eyes and think of someone or something you are truly grateful for. Let that feeling of gratitude wash over you. Breathe in deeply as you imagine the oxygen getting infused with gratitude and traveling throughout your body alongside it.
It's time to step into your power and let go of the past. Under this Full Moon, you are free.
